60 law firms to be acquired by consolidator

Metamorph Law has outlined plans to acquire up to 60 firms over the next five years, following its first acquisition.

The news comes after solicitors told Bridging & Commercial Distributor that many law firms were seeking mergers due to increasing costs and regulatory pressures.

Metamorph Law has been created as a vehicle to acquire, transform and aggregate existing high street law firms focused on private client work.

Conveyancing specialists Linder Myers has become the first of Metamorph Law’s acquisitions via a pre-pack administration.

“The decision to merge was unanimous among the partners,” Trevor Ward, one of Linder Myers’ former equity partners, stated.

“We have been talking to them since late-2015 and therefore had the opportunity to get to know them well.

“We are excited by their vision for how we can better service our private client and SME clients.”

The firm will now trade as Linder Myers, part of Metamorph Law Limited, as Simon Goldhill, CEO of Metamorph Law, expressed his delight at the merger.

“In addition to Linder Myers providing a very dedicated professional team of lawyers and support staff focused on the needs of their clients, they also have the support functions required to service a multi-office firm of around 200 staff.

“This merger gives us the base on which we can now anchor our operations and seek to build with subsequent acquisitions nationwide.”
